The couple married in 1889 at St. Andrews Church, officiated by Rev. Algernon Crapsey. The marriage was short-lived, however, as Henry Perkins died suddenly of a brain inflammation four years later, at the age of 32.

Gilman married Marie Louise Atkinson 1889. Marie (daughter of Hobart Ford Atkinson and Zilpha Louise Atkinson) was born 24 Feb 1864; died 29 Oct 1940. [Group Sheet]
