Madeline Ullrich is currently a PhD student in the Graduate Program in Visual and Cultural Studies at the University of Rochester and an Andrew W. Mellon Digital Humanities Fellow. She completed her Master’s degree in Art History, Visual Art, and Theory at the University of British Columbia with the thesis titled “Partial Vision: Remediations of the Algerian Veil in Film and Scholarship After Fanon.” Her research focuses on television studies, contemporary cinema and media studies, with intersecting interests in feminism(s), queer theory, and gay and lesbian studies.
