Frances Lee (b. 1880)

Friends and Acquaintances of Emily Sibley Watson:

Frances Lee was the daughter of Rev. James Hattrick Lee and his wife Abigail Stearns Lee.  A graduate of Radcliffe College, she ran a Miss Lee's School in Boston.

Her father ran the Fort Hill School during his time in Rochester, at which James G. Averell was a student in 1889, and Lee's son Billy was sent to school through the generosity of Emily Sibley Watson.

An Episcopalian priest, James Hattrick Lee "left the church after reading Darwin on evolution and instead taught Greek, Latin and physics at the prestigious Milton Academy in Massachusetts."
