Don't know where

Letter from James Sibley Watson to Emily Sibley Watson, September 12-20, 1885<br />

1885-09-12 through 1885-09-20

James Sibley Watson begins this letter from "don't know where," stuck in a canyon near the headwaters of the East Fork of the Yellowstone River.  In this letter we meet his guide for this and several other trips, known only as "Yank." Over the course of the next several days, they get out of the canyon, explore the "Hoodoo" Mountains, and end up at Soda Butte, WY.
