On the Princess Irene
J.G. writes from on board the Princess Irene. He sailed with Lawrence Hall Fowler, a friend and fellow architect. The boat sailed October 24th, 1903; yet this letter was postmarked in New York on November 11th, after it had sailed to Genoa and returned back again. A privately-owned passenger list confirms the October 24th sailing date, with J.G., Fowler and Mark Twain & family on board.
J.G. asks his mother to send four trophy cups to the Calgary Polo Club for him, as the prize for winning against the Rochester team in September.
