Back in North Adams, MA, Edward Duty Tyler thanks his cousin Emily for the trip out to Colorado, and recounts his renewed energy back home. He reports leaving his wife, Louisa, with her family in Baldwinsville ("B'ville"), NY.

We don't know much about the state of Edward Duty Tyler's health, but it can't have been good, since he passed away later that year, on December 31, 1890.
