Letter from Elizabeth Maria Tinker Sibley to Emily Sibley Watson, October 31, 1890
10-31-1890

Elizabeth Sibley writes of receiving letters from Libbie Tyler and Emily on the 24th and 25th of October, respectively.

She writes of setting Emily's house in order, so it seems likely that some thought of Emily's being able to return has reached her, although the letter is still sent to Santa Barbara. Elizabeth writes: "Will Mr. Canfield come here I wonder on his way back, I should like to meet him."

Letter from James Sibley Watson to Emily Sibley Watson, October 31, 1890
10-31-1890

James Sibley Watson acknowledges receipt of Emily's letter of October 24, 1890. Among the local news he notes that "Mrs. Harry" (Emily's niece, Marie Louise Atkinson had married Gilman Henry Hubbell Perkins, known as "Harry" in 1889) "talked most enthusiastically about you & about the flowers you sent her & the Mexican Kodaks & everything." Did Emily make a side-trip from Santa Barbara into Mexico or were these Kodaks from "Mrs. Harry's" wedding trip?
