1901: Intercollegiate Golf
J.G. played for Harvard in the Intercollegiate Golf tournament held at Atlantic City in 1901 May 1901. The Boston Post said that J.G. would "be on hand once more to revenge his defeat [at the previous intercollegiate tournament]. He is now a post-graduate and has played for Harvard since '98. He is an erratic but brilliant player, and when at his best impossible to beat." The Harvard team won, although younger players ended up competing at the individual level.
